This is why we are all taxed so much so that we are supposed to use the excellent public transport....The government can go and get stuffed!!!!

Delays

According to statistics obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, the average commuter on the Metropolitan line wasted three days, 10 hours and 25 minutes in 2006 due to delays (not including missed connections). Between 17 September 2006 and 14 October 2006, figures show that 211 train services were delayed by more than 15 minutes. Passengers are entitled to a refund if their journey is delayed by 15 minutes or more due to circumstances within the control of TfL... 99% of the time it is some one elses fault!?

Penalty fares and fare evasion

In addition to automatic and staffed ticket gates, the Underground is patrolled by both uniformed and plain-clothes ticket inspectors with hand-held Oyster card readers. Passengers travelling without a ticket valid for their entire journey are required to pay at least a £20 penalty fare and can be prosecuted for fare evasion under the Regulation of Railways Act 1889 under which they are subject to a fine of up to £1,000, or three months' imprisonment.

What I want for Xmas... a buggy rollin suit!

This is what I want... A strange mixture of Robocop and an escapee from 'Wheelie Town', the Buggy Rollin' suit is non the less a fun way to snap your limbs off.

It doesn't even matter if you fall on your ass... there's a set of wheels there too.

With this suit I think I can at last foil the speed cameras...

(Wikipedia) - Jean-Yves Blondeau (Aix les Bains, 1970 - ), also known as "Rollerman", is a French designer who is best known for creating the 31-wheel roller suit (Buggy Rollin'). This suit places a number of rollers (similar to those found on rollerblades) on most of the major joints, the torso, and the back. The wearer can ride in a variety of positions (rollerblade, on back, on torso, on all fours, etc.) at speeds of up to 60 mph (96 km/h). He has been featured on television shows in several countries.

He carried out the roller suit as part of his graduation project at the famous industrial design school Olivier de Serres in Paris. The study theme was: "systems that underline the sensations caused by the displacement of the human center of gravity in relation to support points in order to move into space". The research phase lasted for 6 months, followed by 1 month of synthesizing and 2 months of producing the prototype. Then it followed a one year of secret patent writing, finally published in June 1995. Since then, six generations of buggy-rollins have been elaborated. They include different creations from the extreme basic kneepad with rollers to the most sophisticated one called "super rollin bionic woman" (SURBO). The prototypes have involved into safer, more comfortable and easier machines that can be adapted to all different morphologies. The SURBO is also a great aesthetic success.

He plans to sell the first commercial buggy-rollin' equipment at the end of the year 2008, for a price of around 1500 euros
